Trinay Thomas, MSW, LCSW, LICSW

CEO/Founder
I am a New Jersey (Munsee Lenape Territory) based Afro Caribbean Clinical Social Worker. I was raised in a vibrant immigrant multigenerational family of immediate and extended relatives that migrated from the Caribbean Region, Canada and England. I hold dual citizenship in the United States and the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.

"Perceptive, insightful, intuitive and empathetic” are some of the words my colleagues, clients and students use to describe my work with them. I have experience working with adults struggling with anxiety, depression, life altering events as well as crises. Throughout my career, I have developed a speciality of therapeutic experience working with individuals and families from the Caribbean, Asian and African diasporas. We cultivate therapeutic spaces support cultural awareness, cultural responsiveness and cultural safety along with Decolonization and Anti-Racist perspectives in all our services.
I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Rhode Island.
I am also a Registered Psychiatric Social Worker in Trinidad and Tobago. I have been a Psychotherapist for 20 years and a Certified Clinical Supervisor for 18 years working with individuals with a whole range of diverse presenting issues. I provide clinical supervision for supervisees in the state of New York, New Jersey and Trinidad and Tobago.

My formal training is in psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral therapy as well as eye movement desensitization reprocessing therapy(EMDR) yet I do have experience in various therapeutic approaches. My priority when working with clients, students and supervisees is to make sure that they know they are valued in our work together. Life can be difficult, joyful, rich, textured and full of challenges. Developing coping skills and cultivating strength in the areas of your life that need support is vital, and I am here to navigate all of those sacred spaces with them and you.
Tishuan Matthews, MSW

Clinical Coordinator
Tishuan N. Matthews has psychotherapeutic experience working in government agencies and systems as well as private practice, providing clinical interventions to individuals, groups, and families. Tishuan will co-facilitate groups while also providing administrative support to all of our systems and programs.

Tishuan received her MSW (Clinical Practice) and Bsc SW (Special) degrees from the University of the West Indies and is a Psychiatric Social Worker (PSW) (Reg. 1601). Tishuan holds dual citizenship in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Rajiv Gangaram, MSW, RSW

Social Work Educator /Curriculum Resident
Rajiv Gangaram is a trained social worker with a background in working with children and families. Rajiv is the holder of a Masters Degree from the University of West Indies, St. Augustine Campus in Trinidad and Tobago. He is also a holder of a Bachelors degree in Social Work.
Rajiv is passionate about social work education and is committed to evidenced based practice. He believes in equality and holds strongly to the social justices ethos of the profession.
Rajiv is the co-creator of our online learning platform, The Good Healing Firm Collective that creates courses for mental health professionals and their career development.

Jabal Braithwaite earned his BSc at the University of Trinidad and Tobago. Jabal is an MSW Candidate at University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus, in Trinidad and Tobago.
Jabal's is a Children's Service Associate/Social Worker that works with children, youth, adolescents and their families.

Jabal's work here at the Good Healing Firm will be focused on Resource Directory Building, engagement with NGOs, Workshops and Psychoeducational Groups.
Vanessa Gibbs-Pierre, MSW

Vanessa received her MSW (Clinical Practice) and Bsc SW (Special) degrees from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus in Trinidad and Tobago.
​
Vanessa Gibbs-Pierre has experience working in public sector social services agencies providing clinical social work intervention to individuals, families and groups. Additionally, Vanessa is knowledgeable and experienced in designing and facilitating community-based psycho-educational outreach programmes.
​
Vanessa co-facilitates psycho-educational groups her at the practice. She also governs mental health billing and credentialing for our therapists.
